Track Builder – A robust track editor that allows players to create and share their own race tracks.If players create a custom track in the Basement environment and then share that track, other players will be able to see the customizations they’ve made to the Basement area. Basement – An environment editor that allows players to customize the look of the game’s “Basement” environment, which is where several race tracks are set.Multiplayer – Compete against other players online in races for up to 12 players.
Split Screen – A multiplayer mode for two people in the same room who will play on the same screen. Time Attack – Choose a location, track, and vehicle and complete a lap as quickly as you can. Quick Race – Choose a location, track, and vehicle and compete in a single race against computer-controlled opponents. We’ll talk more about this mode in a bit. Hot Wheels City Rumble – This is the game’s career mode, which challenges players to defeat five monsters that are terrorizing Hot Wheels City. Here’s a brief overview of these options: Hot Wheels Unleashed features five different racing modes, as well as an environment editor, livery editor, and track creator. Hot Wheels Unleashed is an arcade-style racing game that allows players to collect dozens of Hot Wheels vehicles and put their racing skills to the test in multiple gameplay modes, including a career mode, multiplayer races, time trials, and more. We had the chance to check out the PlayStation 4 version of the game (we played it on PlayStation 5 through the console’s backwards compatibility functionality). The studio’s two other most recent games involve motorcycles as well - October’s Forza-for-bikes sim Ride 4 and December’s MXGP 2020.Hot Wheels Unleashed races onto consoles and PC on September 30, 2021. Milestone’s Monster Energy Supercross 4 will launch March 8 and MotoGP 21 is coming April 22. Hot Wheels Unleashed will be available for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X. There’s also a track editor, and creations may be shared online with the community. 
The game should have a heavy collection angle, too, as skins, track sets, cars of varying rarity, and other features were mentioned. Hot Wheels Unleashed will let players “drive the cars as if they were playing with the die-cast toys,” according to the news release. Hot Wheels has lent its name to several video games going back to 1984 its most recent appearance was as an expansion to 2016’s Forza Horizon 3, which included the orange stunt track courses. Siblings have been launching them through orange plastic loops, corkscrews, and at one another since the Nixon administration.
